Precision branching-ratio measurements in $$^{18}$$O

Abstract An experiment has been performed utilising the $$^{12}$$ 12 C( $$^{7}$$ 7 Li, p ) $$^{18}$$ 18 O reaction to populate high-energy states in O. Using Munich Q3D magnetic spectrograph conjunction with Birmingham large-angular-coverage DSSD array, branching ratios have measured for over fifty O, investigating $$\alpha $$ ? -decay, n 2 -decay and $$\gamma ? branches. In tandem, Monte-Carlo techniques used identify separate features.
